Session description: Learn about Humber Libraries new Equity and Inclusion Hub, created to provide a unified access point to EDI related services, spaces, resources and initiatives at the Library. This presentation will tell a story of a college-wide effort to build an EDI framework at the institutional level and its impact on the library. It will also demonstrate a collaborative effort across the library to pool work and expertise together in the development of this hub. The audience will get a live demonstration of the different sections of the hub to learn more, and may be inspired to develop an Equity and Inclusion Hub at their own institution.  

Learning outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to...

• Recall equity identities and prohibited grounds outlined in Ontario Human Rights Code    

• Identify the role and scope of library in the institutional commitment to EDI  

• Recognize the value of a unified access point for EDI related library resources, services, and spaces to foster a culture of equity & inclusion in an academic library

• Apply a systems thinking lens in the creation of the Equity & Inclusion Hub
