Citation Workshop Evolution

Session description: Citing sources to avoid plagiarism is always tricky for students, and Seneca libraries takes an active approach to helping their population with academic integrity and citation.  However in the past it has not always been in the most efficient manner.  Prior to the pandemic, each campus would run their own citation workshop for students with the smallest amount of communication between workshop coordinators and no coherent flow or uniformity

During the pandemic it was decided to continue with these workshops virtually - with the campus workshop coordinators working together along with the citation committee to create an intuitive, straightforward slide deck along with a relaxed, informational question and answer period. There were learning curves, and different software was tried. And the students attended!  Attendance rose and the feedback has been incredibly positive from both the students and the faculty.  In this workshop students and at times faculty are taken through the evolution of our citation workshops, what works for us and what has not, and answer questions with regards to setting up, comparing or updating citation workshops.
